Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using EduConnect Uganda ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

EduConnect Uganda is operated by ASAT Labs Limited, a company registered in Uganda. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and ASAT Labs Limited.

2. Description of Services

EduConnect Uganda provides:

  • A platform for parents and guardians to discover and compare schools in Uganda
  • Online school application submission and tracking
  • School fee payment processing
  • Communication tools between parents and schools
  • Educational resources and blog content

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your password and account
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

3.2 Account Types

Guardian Accounts: For parents and guardians to manage student applications and payments.

School Accounts: For educational institutions to manage their profiles and applications.

4. School Information

While we strive to provide accurate information about schools:

  • School information is provided by the schools themselves or from public sources
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of school data
  • Fee structures and admission requirements may change without notice
  • We recommend contacting schools directly to verify critical information

5. Applications and Payments

5.1 Application Process

Submitting an application through EduConnect does not guarantee admission. Schools maintain full discretion over their admission decisions.

5.2 Payments

  • Application fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated
  • Payment processing is handled by licensed third-party providers
  • We are not responsible for payment failures due to banking issues
  • All fees are displayed in Ugandan Shillings (UGX)

6. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Provide false or misleading information
  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with the proper functioning of the platform
  • Scrape or collect data without permission
  • Impersonate any person or entity

7. Intellectual Property

All content on EduConnect Uganda, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of ASAT Labs Limited or its content suppliers and is protected by intellectual property laws.

Schools retain ownership of their own content, logos, and materials shared on the platform.

8. Privacy

Your use of EduConnect Uganda is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

9. Disclaimers

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

  • The service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • School information is completely accurate
  • Applications will result in admission
  • The platform will meet all your requirements

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ASAT Labs Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the platform.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ASAT Labs Limited, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the platform or violation of these terms.

12. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of modified terms.

13. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Uganda.
